What is an Internal Network Risk Assessment? Print E-mail

An internal network risk assessment is a very in-depth review of the overall security of your network.  The primary objective of the assessment is to provide recommendations that maximize privacy, reliability and availability protection of the operating environment.  However, while security advice greatly focuses on data and information protection on servers, equal attention needs to be given to all hosts in an environment.  Like most things, your security is only as strong as the weakest link.  An  internal network risk assessment can take anywhere from five to 30 days to complete, and upon completion, comprehensive knowledge of a site’s risk will be gained and mitigation discussions may follow.

Google Code Vulnerability Print E-mail

A flaw in Google Code was recently uncovered by Billy Rios. Successful exploitation could have resulted in a hacker's ability to steal passwords from developers that had registered on the site. The vulnerability has since been fixed by the Google Security Team.

Flaw Discovered in Webwasher Print E-mail

A DoS can be caused by if a hacker exploits a vulnerability in Webwasher. This is due to a flaw in the processing of URLs running on the newer Linux system. It can be exploited to freeze the service by processing a carefully crafted URL.

Apple Security Patch Fixes QuickTime Print E-mail

11 vulnerabilities were addressed in the security patch released by Apple this week. Out of the 11, nine of the vulnerabilities may have allowed for execution of malicious code on an unsuspecting user's machine. Both Mac OS X and Windows versions were affected by eight of the vulnerabilities, and three of them affect Windows Vista and XP SP 2 only.
