Patch stops integer overflow in libsnd packages Print E-mail

Security specialist Debian has released today its bugtraq advisory on the libsndfile vulnerability that causes integer overflow.

It reported that flaws in all versions of libsnd packages can be fixed through updatess now available on Debian website www.debian.org/pools/updates.

Adobe fixes critical issues on Acrobat and Reader Print E-mail

 Responding to issues which it has rated as “critical”, software-maker Adobe has released updates on Tuesday for Acrobat and Reader intended to patch its security vulnerabilities.

In late February, Adobe sounded alarms over the discovery of a severe security hole in Acrobat 9 and Reader 9 and its earlier versions which it said “would cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.”

Improper assertion of DKIM-Milter may cause crash Print E-mail

Debian Security has recently discovered a new vulnerability in DKIM-Milter, a DomainKeys Identified Mail protocol used in Linux, that can crash the system.

According to a security advisory released last week by Debian, a flaw in the DKIM-Milter triggers an improper assertion while implementing a DKIM verification.

POP Peeper can trigger remote buffer overflow Print E-mail

Security experts from Krakow Labs Research recently announced a new vulnerability found in the email application POP Peeper.

Krakow Labs also said that an exploit has already been made public to trigger the vulnerability.

150 bug fixes bundled in new Chrome version Print E-mail

Google Chrome browser has a new updated version that fixes more than 150 issues and wipes out crash and stability bugs.

Google published the bug fixes on Monday in its blog post but its latest update as of March 6 noted that a new feature bundled in Chrome 2.0.168.0 has been withdrawn.
